Drilling Rig Training I introduction
The Drilling Rig Training I introductory course is tailored to personnel working in related activities onshore, such as coordinators, engineers, materials managers, mechanics, etc. The purpose of the course is to provide an understanding of what daily life is like on an installation. This explains the inclusion of HSE philosophy and the practical performance of operations. The course takes place on the derrick from the Troll A platform, now installed at Mongstad. The course content includes communications, HSE, task allocation, management, pipe handling, the role of hydraulics roughnecks, manual rig tongs, falling objects and assembly and disassembly.
Tuition:
Teaching takes place over a two-day period on the derrick at Mongstad. Your instructors have wide-ranging and extensive experience from the oil industry, and employ similar procedures in their day-to-day work. On completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate.
