Drilling Rig Training II
The Drilling Rig Training II course focuses on intensive practical course work and is intended for personnel who work in drilling operations. The course takes place in the on Troll A derrick at Mongstad. Course content includes the following:
Slip replacement, distinguishing between different types of slips, and the verification of correct slips; communications, HSE, task allocation, management, pipe handling, hydraulics roughnecks, manual rig tongs, Kelly cock, hazards, falling objects, assembly and disassembly, and chiksan swivel joints.
Teaching takes place over a 3-day period on the derrick installed at Mongstad. Your instructors have wide-ranging and extensive experience from the oil industry, and employ similar procedures in their day-to-day work. On completion of the practical training, participants will receive a certificate.
The course is intended for students from drilling training courses and technical college who require a basic practical training in drilling operations.
